Dan Welden is a master printmaker, painter, teacher, author and the originator of Solarplate printmaking. He has shown his work in more than 87 one-person exhibits and over 700 Group exhibitions around the globe. He has taught and demonstrated printmaking at over 200 universities, colleges, workshops, television programs and schools. Dan is the original printmaking pioneer of health and safety, inspiring artists since 1971 to use the alternative and greener methods without the use of acids or other dangerous chemicals.
“My work is an exploration of ‘landscape’ in all its terrains from desserts to arctic plains. Specific intention is given to the vision of a rural hillside or pasture where animals walk and meander leaving trodden pathways, often only visible to the keen observer.” Dan Welden
