This past fall, something extraordinary happened: more than 70 exhibitions opened in Southern California as part of Pacific Standard Time, an initiative funded by the Getty to examine California art from 1940-1980. In this talk, we will examine this massive undertaking, which poses a serious challenge to the art-world dominance of New York, and think about what it means to make art in California today.
This high impact art
evening will be loaded with light hors-d’œuvres, rich visuals from
Tara’s amazing cache of images, bold art topics, and artisan wines to
inspire lively discourse with our brilliant presenter. Don’t miss out!
