Nimbus Arts presents our “Migration” Día de los Muertos Community Art Installation which has been designed to show reverence for the Monarch Butterfly, or Mariposa. Our FREE community Mariposa Art Kits, honor the Monarch Butterfly’s unique migration, and the amazing symbolism they hold in the Día de Los Muertos cultural traditions. The migration of the Monarch from North to South America is truly one of the great wonders of our world, and it takes generations of Monarch butterflies to make this epic migratory journey. In the Mexican culture and Día De Los Muertos tradition, some believe that be being visited by the Mariposa is a visit from the spirit and soul of loved ones who have passed.

In celebration of Día de los Muertos, and the Monarch’s journey we invite you to draw, paint, and alter our 120 wooden Monarch Butterfly forms in any way you wish.

There are only 120 Butterfly kits available, so register today to get yours while supplies last!

Once you register for a free kit, you will receive information on when and where to pick up your kit and drop off your finished artwork. The community art installation will be on display for two weeks from Monday, October 24th until Sunday, November 6th in downtown St. Helena.

The “Migration” community art program is generously sponsored by the City of St. Helena and the Maldonado Family Foundation. We are deeply thankful for their support.
