Casting metal is a 6,000-year-old process still used in both manufacturing and fine art. The most common metals used in fine art are aluminum, iron and bronze in the lost wax casting method. In our first EVER bronze class, you will learn basic wax-working techniques, as well as how to create plaster shell molds. Working from your own designs and sketches, we will create and then cast your piece in bronze. If you’d like a day by the sea…join our instructor for a field trip to watch the final pour of your work at the Mendocino Art Center Foundry. All sculptures will be transported back to Nimbus for instruction in basic metal finishing. $375

MA – 1  Ages Teen/Adult Sundays April 7-28 3:00-5:30
