The arts empower. The arts give a voice to the voiceless.
The arts help transform American communities…
― Robert L. Lynch, President, Americans for the Arts.
Join us for an interactive workshop inspired by the quilts of Gee’s Bend. Participants will create a collage or textile art piece to reflect inner strength, learn about the therapeutic benefits of artmaking, and the power of art to reflect our individual strengths, together while building community. No artistic or sewing experience necessary.
This special FREE workshop is part of the first annual California Art Therapy Week of Civic Engagement. This summer the state legislature established October 16-22 for this special week, recognizing the profession of art therapy to benefit the lives of Californians.
