Note on Nick’s “Calligraphy Glitterati” – Nick developed a copperplate style that was used in the film “The Last Samurai”., His sketches of local color, surrounded by 19th century script represented the Samurai handwriting of the (played by Tom Cruise) in his diary.

For two years in a row, Nick’s work has been juried into the Letter Arts Review, a prestigious quarterly magazine dedicated to calligraphy, typeface and work of the highest caliber involving letter arts.

In this series Nick will focus on fanciful forms of lettering, using both pen and ink, and brush styles to accomplish whimsical and fun letters and decorative monograms.  Nick will share his fabulous “fonts of folly” while helping you to discover your own personal style and art interests in creating fanciful lettering.  $85 (basic beginning supplies, nibs and paper will be provided)
