#001  9/11 Memorial Mosaic Sculpture
created by more than 250 hands

In 2011, Nimbus Arts worked with community groups, including veterans from the Yountville Pathway Home to create a large-scale community mosaic sculpture to commemorate the tenth anniversary of 9/11.  On one side, veterans and other community members created personal mosaic medallions.MORE

On the other side, a mosaic blended images from 9/11 in New York City with the rural context of Napa Valley. This work is permanently installed at the Napa Valley Museum, located at 55 President’s Circle, Yountville, CA.

This Memorial Mosaic Sculpture was made possible through the support of Grassi Construction, Inc.; Napa Valley Museum; Pacific Coast Stone Cutters; and Pathway Home, Inc.   Contributing and supporting Nimbus Artists Melissa Baker, Mercedes Baker, David Gardner, and Anne Pentland along with our Napa Valley Community Artists; The Pathway Home Veterans and many community volunteers designed and constructed this mosaic sculpture.
