clif environmental studies in-the-classroom

We are so grateful for the Clif Bar Family Foundation’s ongoing support of  Nimbus Arts’ art-driven conservation education programming.  The multi-faceted classroom instruction is delivered in Elementary Schools in St. Helena and Calistoga and more than 650 students have participated since the program’s start in 2013. With Nimbus Arts instructors and educators collaborating with teachers, each program enlightened students on conservation challenges and priorities by combining art activities with classroom projects.

Succotash, the current program for the 2018 academic year, teaches students about sustainable agriculture, food and nutrition through horticultural art, farming, culinary, and classroom projects

Past programs have included Bottlefish, which explored the Napa River and the importance of keeping it clean, and Spots and Stripes, that was an exploration of the environmental impacts on endangered species.

Student engagement is high in these innovative and dynamic conservation education programs.  Nimbus Arts hopes to continue its work with the schools and the Clif Bar Family Foundation to extend these programs for years to come.
