“RAW MATERIAL-Working Wool in the West” with Stephany Wilkes

Sunday, Nov. 24 | 11:00am-12:00pm | Nimbus Arts-Studio 1

Nimbus Arts is kicking off our new textile arts program with a special guest lecturer highlighting important topics in fiber arts and sustainable agriculture.

Join us in welcoming Stephany Wilkes, Bay Area sheep shearer and author of “RAW MATERIAL-Working Wool in the West.”

Stephany will read a brief selection from her book on the ecology of regenerative agriculture, carbon farming, soil carbon sequestration, and natural fibers. She will also have lots of local wool samples, in raw, yarn, and fabric formats, and is happy to sign copies of her book.

Do not miss this unique event and topic followed by lively questions and discussion.

Stephany Wilkes is a sheep shearer certified by the University of California Hopland Research and Extension Center, a wool classer certified by the American Sheep Industry Association (ASI), and the President of the Northern California Fibershed Cooperative.
